Develop A Morning Routine

Developing A morning routine is beneficial in a few ways. I was one of the those people who would hit the snooze button every morning. I had this thing where I would set my alarm clock 45 minutes before I was forced to actually get up. Not realizing I was actually making myself tired before the day even started.

One would think... how can you make yourself tired from hitting the snooze button? Well think about it. When we hit the snooze button we're putting our body back in a sleep cycle. We have a sleep cycle of around 90 minutes. So, when you suddenly wake 10-30 minutes later from snoozing, your body is not fully awaken. Developing a morning routine to get you out that habit is beneficial to your well-being as well.

Her is a few tips to developing a healthy morning routine.

  • Incorporate being thankful and grateful into your morning routine. When we find the things we are grateful and thankful for we start our morning out positive. We choose how our day will play out based on the things we focus on when we wake up. Why not start them out positive?!This will set our mood for the day.

  • Start your morning with drinking water. Have a cup of water on your night stand so when you wake it's right there. I like to keep my water on my night stand.

  • Definitely add some Meditation to your morning routine. Relax your mind and body for 5-10 minutes and focus on nice deep breaths. The difference that will make will surprise you, if you are new to meditation.

  • Get your body in motion. No, not just walking to bathroom to wash your face and brush your teeth. I mean go for a walk, jog, walk your dog, hit the gym, or even creating a workout routine in a part of your house works. Just get in motion...okay? Okay.

  • After you incorporated all of these relaxing and motivational things to start your morning, stay positive and joyful.
